The Industrial Injection Premium Stock Plus Long Block Engine for the 2017–2023 6.6L L5P Duramax delivers an upgraded foundation for customers who want additional strength and durability beyond a stock replacement engine.
Built with Industrial Injection X Series pistons, a balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly, upgraded ARP hardware, and premium cylinder head components, this long block is designed for dependable operation in demanding diesel applications.
Each engine is professionally machined and assembled by Industrial Injection's experienced engine team, with attention to component preparation, tolerances, and assembly quality.

Premium Stock Plus Construction
The Premium Stock Plus program incorporates upgrades to the rotating assembly, oiling system, and cylinder heads to address key areas of engine durability.
Industrial Injection X Series coated, chamfered, and de-lipped pistons are combined with a balanced and keyed OEM Duramax crankshaft, balanced connecting rods, and upgraded ARP fasteners. The keyed camshaft and pinned oil pump provide additional mechanical security within the engine assembly.
The cylinder heads receive extensive machine work and upgraded components, including diamond-honed valve guides, premium valve seat inserts, new unshrouded valves, and a multi-angle valve job. ARP 2000 head studs and Premium C Grade head gaskets complete the long block assembly.

Recommended Components to Inspect Before Installation
When replacing or rebuilding your L5P Duramax engine, the condition of supporting components is critical to the reliability of the completed installation. A failure in the original engine may leave contamination or damage in components that will be reused.
Industrial Injection recommends inspecting the following components before installing your rebuilt long block:

Oil Cooler: Inspect for metal debris, contamination, or internal damage. Replacement may be necessary following a bearing or internal engine failure.

Fuel Injectors: Have injectors tested and inspected for proper operation before reinstalling them. Injector problems can contribute to piston damage and other engine failures.

Turbocharger: Inspect for excessive shaft play, oil leaks, wheel damage, and contamination. Any turbocharger problems should be corrected before installation.

Fuel System: Inspect fuel lines, filters, and fuel system components for contamination or damage. Address any existing fuel delivery issues before starting the rebuilt engine.

Cooling System: Inspect the radiator, hoses, thermostat, and related components for restrictions, leaks, or contamination. Correct any cooling system problems that may have contributed to the original engine failure.

Intake and Charge Air System: Inspect the intake piping, intercooler, and charge air connections for debris, oil accumulation, and damage that could affect the replacement engine.
Important: Always identify and correct the cause of the original engine failure before installing your rebuilt long block. Reusing damaged or contaminated components can lead to repeat engine failure and may affect warranty coverage.

Repair & Return Engine Service
Industrial Injection offers L5P Duramax engine builds through our Repair & Return (R&R) program. Your existing engine is evaluated and rebuilt to the Premium Stock Plus specifications rather than exchanged for an engine from available inventory.

Warranty and Engine Break-In
Warranty coverage is subject to the applicable Industrial Injection engine warranty policy. Proper installation, break-in procedures, and maintenance are required to maintain warranty coverage.
Follow the current Industrial Injection engine break-in instructions supplied with your completed engine, including the specified break-in oil and initial oil change requirements.
