Product Description:
Industrial Injection Duramax Alternate Firing Billet Camshafts
Unlock smoother operation, stronger power delivery, and enhanced durability in your Duramax engine with Industrial Injection Alternate Firing Billet Camshafts. Designed for high-performance street trucks, towing applications, and competition builds, these billet camshafts feature an optimized alternate firing order that improves cylinder balance, reduces harmonics, and increases valvetrain stability under high load.
One of the biggest advantages of an alternate firing camshaft is its ability to extend the life of your crankshaft by changing the firing order of your engine. The OEM Duramax firing order ends with cylinder 3 and begins with cylinders 1 and 2, creating a 3-1-2 hit to the crankshaft. Duramax cranks are known to have a tendency to break right behind the first rod throw at the intersection of the second main journal. This is exactly where this 3-1-2 hit places the greatest stress. By redistributing cylinder firing events, Industrial Injection’s alternate firing camshaft helps reduce concentrated torsional loads and improves overall crankshaft longevity.
Manufactured from premium billet steel and precision-ground to exacting tolerances, Industrial Injection Duramax alternate firing cams deliver improved airflow, enhanced combustion efficiency, and a broader, more usable powerband compared to factory camshafts. Whether you're upgrading a stock engine or building a high-horsepower setup, this camshaft is engineered to handle extreme cylinder pressures while maintaining reliable street manners.
